For two evenings, this <strong>original creation<\/strong> illuminated the<strong> Saint-Eustache Church<\/strong> and invited the visitors to gather for a digital fire, a travel across time, space and cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ghostkit-custom-Z1g5s0Y\"><strong>Portraits of African Cities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abidjan, Cotonou, Kigali, Algiers, Johannesburg&#8230; We had the opportunity to feel the vibes of some African cities &#8211; as modern as plural &#8211; through <strong>a series of time-lapse videos, showed on a 180\u00b0 LED screen<\/strong> and inspired by the work of Beninese photographer <strong>Mayeul Akpovi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"ghostkit-col ghostkit-col-lg-12 ghostkit-col-3\"><div class=\"ghostkit-col-content is-layout-flow wp-block-grid-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"ghostkit-custom-1e887O\"><strong>Africa-France XR Residency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first XR creation residency in France open to emerging artists from Africa, in partnership with the Digital Lab African and the Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts. During one month, <strong>Xabiso Vili<\/strong> and <strong>Sonwabo Valashiya <\/strong>have developed a poetic project: <strong><em>Re\/Member Your Descendants<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ghostkit-custom-ZdTkAm\"><strong>On stage &#8211; musical shows<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first one &#8211; <strong>NIX<\/strong> &#8211; is a Senegalese rapper with a very contemporary orchestration. The second one, <strong>Aida Sock (and her band, the Dream Time)<\/strong>, is was born in Niger, raised in Senegal and juggles between soul, hip-hop and Afro-modern rhythms. Both of them have mixed music and creative innovation to set the outdoor stage on fire!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"ghostkit-col ghostkit-col-4\"><div class=\"ghostkit-col-content is-layout-flow wp-block-grid-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"ghostkit-custom-ZzAVXb\"><strong>Re\/Member Your Descendants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project asks the question: &#8220;If you were an ancestor, what would your descendants call upon you for?&#8221; Through a series of interviews with various South Africans, <strong>Xabiso Vili<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Sonwabo Valashiya<\/strong>, looks to <strong>bring the spiritual plane into the physical space<\/strong>. Using <strong>Augmented Reality<\/strong>, the interviewees are illustrated as their ancestors and their stories are told <strong>though poetry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ghostkit-custom-uTF93\"><strong>Kandaka and the Black Pharaohs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This film was an <strong>original creation specifically designed for the festival and our 180\u00b0 LED screen<\/strong> (Ainslee Robson). It is a tribute to <strong>Amanirenas<\/strong>, a revolutionary queen who defeated Roman forces.
