POWERS OF X is a VR experience that explores our planet’s environmental fragility relative to the effects of global consumption and man-made climate breakdown. Adapting Charles and Ray Eames’ film, POWERS OF TEN, this new experience visualizes the invisible impact we each have on the planet by highlighting alarmingly large (and small) factors central to the acceleration of global warming.
The 6DoF experience is divided into two parts (one linear, one interactive) that evolve the 2D square “anchor graphic” of its foreberer into a three-dimensional cube. Part One presents these cubes as the centerpiece in a guided demonstration of the scale of the climate crisis, from the tiniest pathogen to the space junk that threatens our atmosphere. Part Two invites the user to interact with the cubes and examine their own environmental footprint to see how small adjustments to their daily lives can yield large eco-positive change.
