Call for projects launched for the XR Farnese – Medici residence

For the 4th year running, NewImages Hub is delighted to renew its partnership with the French Embassy in Italy and the Institut Français Italia, the Académie de France à Rome – Villa Médicis, Rai Cinema and Vidéocittà, a new partner joining forces to set up a first-of-its-kind residency in Italy dedicated to immersive creation.

Open to all types of extended reality projects (360° virtual or interactive reality, augmented reality, installations including immersive technologies), this program is a unique opportunity for a French creator or one living in France to enjoy a singular experience and benefit from a privileged moment to develop and promote his/her project, as well as to strengthen his/her professional network. The residency also represents an opportunity to strengthen ties and create new synergies between France and Italy in the field of creative innovation.

French artists, take part in a unique creative residency in Italy:

between September and October 2024: 4-week residency
at the Académie de France in Rome – Villa Médicis, including accommodation
with an endowment of €6,000
meetings with the local ecosystem
participation in various Italian festivals or IFI partner events scheduled between autumn 2024 and early summer 2025
acquisition of a 360 version of the project by Rai Cinema (pre-purchase: €2,000)
