Workshop for Authors at NewImages Hub with Claudix Vanesix
Attend the next NewImages Hub workshop led by Claudix Vanesix on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Forum des images in Paris.
This workshop will focus on the Claudix Vanesix‘s creative journey, their methods and artistic tools. This introduction to VR production will help you familiarize yourself with these new challenges by offering you the opportunity to create a collective Exquisite Corpse in the form of a 360° video.
Claudix Vanesix
Claudix Vanesix is a performance artist whose XR experiments are diverse. Their projects address new issues created by the emergence of generative Artificial Intelligence, and the new languages made possible by the development of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
Incorporating these technological tools into works linked to ancestral traditions is one of Claudix Vanesix’s creative challenges, constantly renewed in their immersive performances.
The workshop
In this introductory workshop, participants will explore the fundamental principles of image composition in 360° video, through innovative examples illustrating new possibilities for VR use.
Participants will work with a 360° camera to film short video clips, which will be incorporated into a collective Exquisite Corpse, fostering creativity and cooperation.
Technological tools for editing VR videos will also be introduced to guide participants through post-production steps.
The workshop will conclude with a screening of the group’s creations, using VR headsets to allow everyone to experience their creation in a 360° environment.
Morning program
9:15-9:45 AM: Theoretical introduction to XR and Virtual Reality.
9:45-10:15 AM: Principles of composition in immersive video.
10:15-11:45 AM: Capturing 360° videos.
11:45 AM-12:30 PM: Export and editing of the 360° videos.
12:30-1:00 PM: Viewing of the videos created during the workshop.
