Meet Joséphine Derobe, VR filmmaker, at the Forum des Images as part of the theme They Are Here to Stay

Joséphine Derobe is a French author, artist, and filmmaker working in the fields of digital arts, cinema, and live performance. After studying journalism, she worked as an independent reporter and documentary photographer, covering in-depth social issues in France and abroad. In 2006, her discovery of stereoscopic imaging led her to cinema, where she collaborated for several years with Alain Derobe, a pioneering cinematographer in 3D imaging.
As one of the rare European specialists in the field, she has contributed to numerous research projects on immersive image and sound, exploring new narrative and creative forms.
This Thursday, February 27, embark on a unique sensory adventure with Moi Fauve, a collective and interactive VR experience by Joséphine Derobe. Inspired by the animist myths of the Indigenous peoples of the Far North, this experience transports participants into a dreamlike world where the boundaries between human, animal, and nature dissolve.
Through gaze, touch, and voice, each viewer resonates with the beings inhabiting this universe, taking part in their metamorphosis and experiencing their own transformation. Designed for groups of 2 to 6 people, Moi Fauve invites you to a profound sensory exploration, where connection with others and the environment takes on its full meaning.
Winner of the Interactivity Award at the NewImages Festival 2024, this immersive work challenges our relationship with life and the unseen through a poetic and deeply sensitive approach.
Following the experience, join us for a talk by Joséphine Derobe at 7 PM.
