Meetings with the public

From April 9 to 13, the NewImages Festival invites you to explore works that question our perception through virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, interactive performance installations and immersive video games, with free access to exhibitions under the Canopée du Forum des Halles, immersive indoor experiences and conferences at the Forum des images.

Immersive exhibition – Free access under the Canopée

Come and discover a free selection of works from the XR Competition and the Hors-compétition, brought together around the theme of otherness. Whether through virtual worlds, art installations or interactive experiences, these creations push back the boundaries of narrative and perception.

Dates: 6pm to 8pm Wednesday April 9 to Friday April 11 and 11am to 7pm Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13.

Immersive experiences at the Forum des images

To take things even further, two unique immersive experiences will be offered in theatres:

Immersive territories – VR in theaters

Immerse yourself in a unique collective experience where VR meets the big screen. This program of virtual reality films, accompanied by immersive sound, explores the notion of otherness from a variety of angles, and will be followed by a discussion with the public.

The Castaways – Immersive performance

Inspired by the myths of Japanese theater and the world of Miyazaki, this collective sound and light experience invites you to explore the characters inside you. A sensitive, poetic creation that blends narration and immersion for a unique journey.

Two must-attend conferences at NewImages Festival 2025

In addition to its immersive experiences and free-access exhibition, NewImages Festival 2025 features two major conferences questioning the impact of technologies on our societies. Artists, researchers, thinkers and industry professionals come together to analyze the crucial issues of artificial intelligence and the immersive industries.

From code to consciousness: understanding AI, a challenge of resistance

AIs are multiplying and perfecting themselves, but do we really understand how they work and who controls them? In a world where a handful of players hold the keys to these technologies, it’s becoming urgent to question their development. Join us for an open discussion with artists, scientists, intellectuals and… an artificial intelligence.
