A Franco-Israeli collaboration: opening of an artistic residency in Herzliya
The French Institute of Israel, the French Embassy in Israel, the Makor Media and Foundation and the Forum des images are launching a call for projects for an immersive artistic residency in Herzliya. This exclusive initiative aims to host a French artist or artist living in France, for an immersive creative experience in the Advanced Reality Lab at Reichman University.
Application requirements and planning
To apply, candidates must speak English and/or Hebrew and present a detailed plan for their residency. This plan should include planned activities, business travel and technical requirements for project development.
Key calendar dates
- Call for projects opens: Tuesday, December 12, 2023
- Submission deadline: Tuesday, January 23, 2024 (23:59 GMT / 00:59 TLV)
- Notification to selected candidates: Week of January 22, 2024
- Online meeting with finalists : Friday, January 26, 2024 (to be confirmed)
- Public announcement of winner: End of January 2024 (via NIF and Makor Foundation social networks)
About the residence
- Residency period: March 1 to 31, 2024
- Participation in the NewImages Festival: April 24 to 28, 2024
- Project completion: April 24, 2024 with an exclusive presentation at NIF 2024
- Experience report: A detailed report on the experience and development of the project is expected.
The Makor Foundation and Makor Media
The non-profit Makor Foundation supports the development and production of independent audiovisual works. The Makor Media section focuses on stories using extended reality (XR), offering financial support and international networking opportunities.
