Nicolas Omar Diop aka Nix is a senegalese rapper, born and raised in Dakar. He started his solo career in 2003, releasing his first studio album “Black Crystal” that had a huge success in the French-speaking countries of West Africa. Since then, he has released 8 other musical projects and received 14 nominations and 6 awards in Senegal. He has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Disiz, Oxmo Puccino, Wyclef Jean, Jerry Wonda, Daara J Family…
Nix is also the co-founder of the pan-African streaming platform Deedo, the digital distribution platform Deedo Distribution and Deedo Dakar Studio, a recording studio and creative hub based in Senegal.
In 2020, he set up the independent label Deedo Records and signed a license with Def Jam Africa. The first project to be released under this label is VIRGO, Nix’s latest EP, released on December 26, 2020.
