Alice Diop
Born in 1970, Alice Diop has been directing creative documentaries screened at international festivals (Cinéma du Réel, BFI London, Karlovy vary, Viennale…) for over ten years. In 2017, she is awarded the Cesar for best short film for her movie Towards tenderness as well as the French Grand Prize at the Bive Medium-Length Film Festival.
That same year, she is awarded the Grand Prize of French competition at the Cinéma du Reel festival for her feature-length documentary The Permanence – Three years ago, she had won the Library Award for her film Danton’s Death at that same festival.
She is currently working on the writing of a fiction, and on finalizing a feature-length documentary, US: a free adaptation of François Masper’s book, Roissy Express: A Journey through the Paris Suburbs.
