Announcement VR Competition on 18 May at the Cannes Film Festival!

The shortlist of VR experiences in competition will be announced on Saturday 18 May at the Cannes Film Festival!

At the invitation of the French Institute, the NewImages Festival and Forum des images will announce the full list of experiences selected for the VR Competition after the roundtable “VR: An Economic Model for Global Distribution”.

These will be in the running for the Golden Mask Award (Grand Prize), worth €10,000, and the Special Jury Prize, worth €5,000.

How can we encourage the screening and purchasing of French VR productions abroad, in order to build a viable and self-sustaining economic model? We will discuss the challenges facing the industry with French VR professionals, and showcase real-life examples of current initiatives, in particular via the French Institute and France’s diplomatic cultural network.
